3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

My magazine is aimed at an alternative audience, featuring independant music and artists. Therefore I have chosen to distribute my magazine independantly. This means that it will be distributed throug Galleries, Cafes, Bars ect. For free.
'Vice' magazine has a very similar strategy to me. However, it is aimed at a more mature audidence. vice is a free magazine that distributes through places where the targetted age range might be. For example, Bars, Cinemas, News agents. 'Vice' was the first free internationally distributed magazine and has an 100% pick-up rate.
My magazine would be distributed in places where my targetted audience are more likely to go. For Example, Music shops, Cafes and bars. I think this is an effective way of targeting my audeince because it'll make it easy to find and also increases the pick up rate. My chosen Multi-platform strategy is to have a smartphone 'app' for example a game that my target audeince can play and it also advertises my magazine. Another strategy that i could use could be to make a website about my magazine, whats in it and how it is distributed. Media 2.0 brings a lot of possibilities that I could use for internet distribution.

Vice magazine have a website that gives all the information about that magazine and also how succesful it has been.
